As the name implies, the Wii Sports Resort is comprised of different games for the Wii console video game console. It is the new version of the Wii Sports which is the first one to be released that is bundled with the console when bought. First release of this game was in Japan on the 25th of June, 2009 and later followed in North America, Europe and Australia last July 2009.

This game is basically referred to as the Wii Series because it is an ongoing set of games that needs the use of Wii Motion Plus. The Wii Sports Resort game is packaged with an extended Wii Remote Jacket and a Wii MotionPlus device, both are sold separately.
Wii Sports Resort is set on a fantastic island called Wuhu Island, the island is also used in Wii Fit that includes 12 different sports. As usual, the Wii Sports Resort games is played with the use of the Wii Remote and in some occasions the Nunchuk, just like playing the real sport. The Wii MotionPlus compatibility is the new feature included in this game that provides a 1:1 control and lets the player play the game with more accuracy.
Wii Sports Resort also provides new variation just like in Table Tennis. You can add a spin to the ball just by simply twisting the Wii Remote while swinging it. Wii MotionPlus is a vital part of the Wii Sports Resort because you cannot play the game without it. When it comes to games that involves 3 to 4 players, one Wii Remote can be used by all players in alternate manner. Games like Canoeing requires all players to have their Wii Remote.
