EA Sports Active

Electronic arts already confirmed its stance on Wii and stated that it is pleased with the huge success of the “EA Sports Active” franchise. This is a big thing considering that EA is one of the biggest video game publishers in the world. The head of EA Sports said that they still believe in Wii and they will still include Wii on their major multiplatform launches. EA Sports Active is one of their biggest hits and among the top 20 selling Wii titles of all time. It attracts new consumers from different ages that are not typically Wii gamers.

The fitness game is already a $200 billion industry and the new business model of EA sports could be from video game position to fitness positioning. However, this is not just all about the Wii. There are other motion controlled gaming technology aside from what is used on Wii and that also gets the attention of other consumers. The company will be giving more time and attention to the fitness genre and will announce new products very soon.

This game presents the following: USGA’s Rule of Golf, U.S. Open and USGA Championship for the very first time in this game’s franchise history. This year, Club Distances were decreased to 40 yards from 09 and a maximum possible distance of 325 yards for your driver.

Dynamic weather data is provided through The Weather Channel which is the forecast channel for WII. Players will have the chance to copy winning shots and moments from entire PGA Tour’s history  through the ‘Tournament Challenge’.

There will be changes when it comes to playing Daily Tournaments in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 Wii online. After each game, the player will be asked if they want to display they scores if not then they can just continue with a new game. A new mode is added known as “Play the Pros” which allows players to compare their scores with real-life PGA professional players. They can also play in the Tour Pro mode which will make the golfing experience even better.

A 4-round weekly tournaments will be presented to players. They can either choose to play all the rounds or choose to play it at the same day. If they choose to play it at the same, they only get one chance to do it. In ranked and unranked matchups, a 60-second shot clock is available.

New different courses are featured at Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 Wii such as Pinehurst (Course 2), Turnberry, Hazeltine National, Oakmont, Torrey Pines, Bethpage Black and Banff Springs. These additional courses has hosted major championships in the history of professional golf. Different golfers and fictitious ones are also featured in this game.

This game is the improved version of the Wii Fit and this was announced last June 2, 2009 by Nintendo through E3 2009 media. Wii Fit Plus fitness game incorporates all the options and activities of Wii Fit with additional 15 new balance games and 6 yoga and strength training activities.

New features added to Wii Fit Plus are:

• calorie burning counter
• users are able to choose a certain routine
• choose custom fitness regimens
• create pet profiles and create Miis

These options helps users choose the exercises that will fit their schedule and fitness needs. Tracking their progress is made easier through the calorie burning counter. During exercises, the player will be able to access other options or other routines for continuous exercise. Wii Fit Plus fitness game comes with Wii Balance Board and can also be sold without for those that already own a the balance board. Nunchuk can also be used with other activities such as Kung Fu.

There are more than 20 activities that will keep the players busy and fit all the time. With several options at hand, players can mix up their fitness regimen and do not have to stick with the same old routine all the time. If time is an issue, there is nothing to worry about it, this game allows you to set a 5-minute routine, 1-hour and more. If the player has an existing Wii Fit account, it will be read automatically which provides flawless operation of the game.

The game when played in DS and Wii is a series of events that was based on the Olympic Winter Games. Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games player has the option to be a Sega or Nintendo character and compete with other characters in a certain event. All the characters from the previous version of the game were all included in this game together with new four characters.

There are events where the player can use the Balance Board but it is not necessary, this is just to add fun to the game. An announcement was made that the game will have WiiConnect24 available so the player can utilize their Mii’s in-game. An additional feature allows the player to customize his Mii by changing its clothes and other accessories.

Festival mode is added to Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games where the player joins all events such as opening ceremony until the end. Under the multiplayer mode the “competitive and co-op gameplay” is available in Wii while the DS version makes use of its wireless capabilities.

Ever since the game was released it has been receiving high scores in game review sites especially on its Wii version. For sure this will be a hit for the entire family, anyone can play their favorite sport and controlling your all-time favorite classic characters such as Mario and Sonic. This boxing video game is the newest edition of the Punch Out!! series. The game was produced by Shigeru Miyamoto who is also a graphic designer and developed by Next Level Games, a Canadian company. The game is led by the main character Little Mac who is aspires to be a professional boxer. But before he can achieve his goal he must face several odd and fictitious characters in the ring.

The player must be able to act quickly to the moves of his opponent because you are only given a small hint on what their next move is. New opponents are also featured in Punch Out!! Wii together with the original characters. The new characters are A Mii Player, Disco Kid, Giga Mac and Donkey Kong. The classic boxers are composed of 10 which are from NES classic.

There are three several control schemes that are used in Punch Out!! Wii. The Nunchuk and the Wii Remote can be used in combination. The Wii Remote swung while the Nunchuk is used to punch and its analog stick is used to control the character’s movements. On the other hand, the Wii Balance Board can be used together with Nunchuk and Wii Remote to dodge or duck but this is not available for multiplayer mode. Lastly, the Wii Remote can be used alone which is held sideways using a control scheme similar with Punch Out!!’s NES version.
